What kind of pickup is the most common in Les Paul guitars?
Humbucker pickups are still the best pickups for Les Pauls, in most cases. For that reason alone, the SH-55 humbuckers are the best option for those who want to experience the full resonance of the mahogany-body Les Paul. The original Les Paul models had P90 pickups, which were Gibson’s version of single-coil pickups.
What do you think about the Gibson 490t?
I have a Studio, and I liked the 490T, it is hot. The 490R had no personality and was boomy. So I played using the 490T which is a bridge pickup.

What kind of wiring do the 490R and 490t have?
the 490R and 490T come with four conductor shielded wiring for series/parallel/split coil variations. NOTE: Factory-installed 490R and 490T pickups have two conductor wiring. I like them, very underrated pickups in my opinion.
Do studio pickups come with 490t pickups?
And for the record, Studios usually come with 498T pickups in the bridge, not 490T. Great pickup set if you play around with them, one of my favorites and very much underrated.
