Are Cricut cartridges still available?
Cricut has decided to retire all Cricut Cartridges. They are no longer in production, but they all can be used with every Legacy Cricut Machine. Cricut Mini is the only one that will not work with Cricut Cartridges.
Can you buy digital Cricut cartridges?
Cricut identifies sets of designs as “cartridges.” Cartridges are digital image sets, but physical plastic cartridges may also be available. Digital cartridges can be purchased straight from Cricut in your Design Space account and are online based.
Can I use someone else’s Cricut cartridge?
Important: Cartridges can be linked only once, and cannot be unlinked. If your cartridge is a pre-owned one, we cannot guarantee that it can be linked to your account. You can still use those cartridges with stand-alone machines like Expression, Personal, etc.
Are Cricut cartridges universal?
Answer: All cartridges launched after August 1, 2013 will be compatible with the universal overlay. All of these new cartridges will not be packaged with an overlay in the box. Instead you will need to purchase the NEW Universal Overlay (once) and it will be used with all of the new cartridges.
Do old Cricut cartridges work on all machines?
If you have already linked cartridges to Cricut Craft Room to use with a Cricut Expression, they are still available for you to use with any newer machine! They are actually linked to your Cricut.com account, and should be automatically available in Cricket Design Space, at www.cricut.com/design.
How can I tell if a Cricut cartridge has been linked?
Click on the person icon, then select My Account to access your account details. Click on Linked Cartridges from the menu to the left of your account information. All items that are linked or otherwise active on your account will be listed, along with the date it was added and how it was added.
Can you use old Cricut cartridges with new machines?
The newer machines, the Cricut Explore series and the Cricut Maker, can absolutely still use any cartridges you have purchased from Cricut. However, first you have to link them to your Cricut account, so you can access them online through Cricut Design Space.
